April 26th, 1938- December 5th, 2011
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gary Paton. He was born and raised in Victoria and also lived many years in Lake Cowichan. Predeceased by his devoted wife Yvonne in 2010. Left to mourn his loss are his children Cheryl (Carl) and Jim; brother Keith (Joan); four grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Dad loved the outdoors, his garden, hunting and fishing. “The tears in my eyes I can wipe away, the ache in my heart will always stay.” You will be missed. Rest in Peace. No service by request. Ron Graham Keith, very sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. Hope you and Joan are still going strong. It’s one thing to lose the Aunts and Uncles but when we start seeing our cousins go its a whole different thing. The few times I saw Gary he was, much like you, warm and welcoming and really made me feel like I was still a part of the family. It was much appreciated from both of you. I think of you guys often and hope one day you will either make trip down here or we get on the road and head north. Love always, Ron & Joyce

Ron Graham Please accept my deepest condolences for the passing of your father. I am one of the all but forgotten California cousins. Having lived my entire life in Seattle and San Diego I did not have all that many occasions to visit with Gary but do remember that I was always welcomed with open arms and treated like a very close and important part of his family. In my mind Gary was a wonderful guy that would look you in the eye and tell you exactly what was on his my; an admirable trait in these days. He was always warm, welcoming and friendly. I am sorry for your loss of both Gary and Yvonne, and would hope that if you ever get down this way you look us up. I would appreciate the opportunity to repay his hospitality. God bless, Ron
