Our sweetheart Georgia passed away suddenly as a result of a house fire 2 months short of her 23rd birthday on February 16, 2013. She leaves behind her parents, Patricia Truman and Stephen Klap, brother, Sam, and many relatives and friends. She entered the world as a strong presence born at home in the countryside near Calgary on April 23, 1990. A creative, kind, loving and beautiful soul, Georgia touched many lives as she packed in lots of living in her short time here. With her background in Waldorf education, she combined her talents and love of nature to take up Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. With integrity, respect and a strong sense of justice, she lived out her beliefs in social action for causes close to her heart. She was a passionate, loving, thoughtful and wise spirit that will be in our hearts forever. Corazona, que te vaya bien con Dios.
A funeral service and reception will be held on Friday, February 22 at 10:30 am at McCall’s Funeral Home, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, Victoria, BC followed by a green burial. Donations in memory of Georgia can be made to her family and will be given to those causes dear to her. Contact information for the family is as follows:

Dear Pat and family, I offer my deepest sympathy for you all. I have Enjoyed the stories of her life shared publicly and from our LIP regional. Sounds like she was a wonderful person with a bit of her Mom’s fiestiness and directness. The world is an emptier place without her and also richer because she was here and participated fully! I wish you well and send you love from the other side of the country. Jen
I have met your Georgia before and I cannot comprehend the hurt and sense of meaningless loss and despair that you, your family and so many of Georgia’s friends have been hit with. Please know that my thoughts and that of many others are with you now and in the days to come. Keith Myler
