Gerald Bromage Elliott left us Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Born in Victoria, December 08, 1926, he was proud to be a 4th generation Victorian.  He was also proud of his Scottish Heritage and won many medals for his Scottish Dancing as a young boy. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Lodge Gizeh Temple and Old Cemeteries Society.

He is survived by his wife, Gerri; his daughter, Kerry (Wolfgang); Gerri’s daughter, Pat (Bob); and a special cousin, Betsy.  Gerry went to sea early on the Tug Boats, then

the CPR and joined the Merchant Navy during the war with one of his memorable runs being theAtlantic.  Following the war he followed many careers.  The one he enjoyed the most was his last, operating Heritage Tours and sharing his vast knowledge of his beloved Victoria with the many visitors.

A funeral service will be held in the Lady Chapel, Christ Church Cathedral, Burdett at Quadra Streets on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. a reception will follow at the Church.  Gerry was a Choir Boy here.  Thank you but no flowers.  He is much loved and will be so missed.

Dear Grandma Gerry, we are very sorry to hear about the passng away of Grandpa Gerald. We both have very fond memories of our stay in Victoria. In perticular our visit to Beacon Hill Farm and the Royal BC Museum. The fantastic evening that we had with you both at Deep Cove Chalet where Dasmesh kept on talking about wanting to buy a dog and Grandpa Gerald would continuously reming him of the the practicalities of having a pet. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful meal and especially the chocolate truffles. We will cherish and always have these memories of Grandpa Gerald in our hearts. Love Dasmesh and Rasna Sandhu

Dear Gerri, we were all extremely sad to hear of Uncle Geralds passing. Only recently whilst looking at old family photo’s I came across pictures of with Ishminder and Dasmesh. It brought back fond memories of your visit here in 1994, my only regret was that you weren’t able to visit again. I also remember our visit to you in 1997, the highlight of our holiday to Canada and the wonderful time we spent at your home. I recall fondly the time’s spent on your balcony in the evenings talking about life with Uncle Gerald and hearing his raucous laugh. We all enjoyed him showing us around Victoria and our wonderful meal at the Aerie on our anniversary. It still makes me laugh when I recall Uncle Gerald telling the pianist to quieten it down. Uncle Gerald left an everlasting impression on me for one as a decent honest man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Aunty Gerri at this most difficult of times. May he rest in peace. Love from the Mangat family.

Dear Gerri, it was and has been a pleasure being your neighbors this last 13 1/2 years. We have seen so many changes in our neighborhood, but the one we will miss the most is the visits that Gerry would give us when he would wander across the road when he saw us outside. We thank you for your friendship and support over the years, and please know that ours is with you at this time.

Remember him telling his jokes, and getting into stories with Norm and the laughter that they had.
