JARRATT Gerald Sydney – Passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 6:30 AM in Mount Edward Court Nursing Home Victoria BC. Many thanks to the Nursing staff and the care-givers for making his stay as comfortable as possible.
Born in Walton-on-Thames, England, February 4th, 1928. Survived by his sister, Lucy Frances Hazelden of Oakville, Ontario; widowed sisters-in-law Pamela Jarratt and Doreen Jarratt in UK; nieces and nephews in Ontario and U.K., and by his partner of many years, Mino Patel.
Gerald immigrated to Canada in 1962, living in Montreal and Toronto, before moving to BC upon retirement. Gerald (Joe to his family) will be remembered with affection and a smile. His lively sense of humour and his large fund of jokes and anecdotes will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 29th followed by a reception. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu would be appreciated, in Gerald’s name, to a charity of your choice, or to B.C. Lung Association. Condolences may be offered at www.mccallbros.com

    Mino,
You know that we love you(Mt ed’s staff) and that we are always with you. I can’t begin to imagine the pain and loss that you are feeling. I, myself, am not able to walk by Gerald’s room without feeling that we have lost a friend and that things are not as they should be. I will never forget “Gerry”.
    Much love,
    Kim
