Gerri was born in Victoria, BC to Olive and Walter Miles.  She graduated from Victoria High School and studied at Victoria College.  Following College, she lived for many years in Seattle, Washington, enjoying a career as a legal secretary.

She is predeceased by the love of her life, Gerald Elliott.  She and Gerald had reconnected later in life, married and returned to Victoria where they established and ran Heritage Limousines.

Love of family and an interest in heritage were very important to Gerri. She was a lifelong lover of animals, caring for pets and wildlife always. Gerri made connections with many people throughout her lifetime, creating lasting friendships wherever she went.

She had a sharp mind and a keen wit. She leaves behind many people who will truly miss her family and friends alike.

Gerri will be remembered at Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 10:00 am.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Wishing (very belatedly) Gerri’s family the best memories of her delightful humour and big, loving heart.

Gerri was a great friend to our Mom, Joan Hooper. As young women, they shared a great adventure – a trip to Seattle to watch an autopsy. They would both have a belly laugh recalling that adventure. It’s a story that made us wish we had known Mom and Gerri when they were young women. I suspect they got up to all kinds of mischief. Over the years, Gerri kept our whole family laughing, even when she was going through tough times. We will dearly miss her sense of humour, her love of animals, and her tales of all the wildlife that would come to her yard. Our lives are so much richer because Gerri was part of them.
