Geri passed away in Victoria, BC during the morning of January 24, 2018 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. She was born in Consul Bluffs, Iowa on May 14, 1931. She was beloved to many and led a quiet spiritual life, devoted to her family and the Lord. She graduated from Petaluma High School in California in 1949, working as a secretary-typist, which enabled her to buy her cherished Baldwin piano.
Geri arrived in Victoria with her daughter in 1968, remarrying and rediscovering her love of the City. Here, she was able to enjoy the things she loved most; laughter, nature walks, the seaside, music and the symphony. She started going to Knox Church in 1969, contributing to music and singing in the choir. Later on, she joined the Victoria Choral Society where she made good friends and participated in many of their performances. She was also a master cook and most notably, made a mean borscht! During her later years, Geri travelled frequently to several countries with her husband, Peter. Geri leaves behind her beloved brother, George; husband, Peter; her only child, daughter Amanda; her grandson, Aidan; step-granddaughter, Hannah-Rose and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Francis and husbands, Morris and Gordon. A special thank you to Dr. Colin Partridge and the staff of Sitka Medical Clinic, Admirals Walk staff at VIHA LABS, and Gabriela, also of VIHA, all of whom showed her loving care. We loved you deeply mom and we will miss you. A Celebration of Geri’s Life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2964 Richmond Road, Victoria, BC at 12 noon, Monday, February 5, 2018. Condolences may be offered to the family below. McCall Gardens |

Wendy Merk Mrs Berry was a sweet soul, she had a lovely smile and a very warm personality. I always remember the Portuguese Eggs, her Easter specialty! My condolences to Amanda and all of her family on her loss.
Hello, we are heartbroken to find that Geri has passed away. She was a dear friend of my mothers. Mom is now 99 and her name is Geneva Hite. I will let her know of Geri’s passing. We knew George and Fran and Weill as Amanda. God bless you all.
