Gerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents Armand and Shirley Lacharite, sisters Sylvia and Patricia, and brother Paul. Survived by his loving wife Grace, son Troy (Candis), grandson Conor, and brother Raymond.

Gerry led a full life and he was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. He married the love of his life on September 5,  1970 in Yorkton, Sask.

Gerry will be dearly missed but not forgotten. His wish was not to have a service but to cherish the ones you love.

I will always remember Gerry and Grace taking Troy and I on a graduation trip to Disneyland. Just coming out of high school, kids usually don’t like hanging out with their parents, but Gerry was one of the guys. He gave us enough space when needed, but also gave us good fatherly advice too. The same type of advice we give our own kids now. We know you are still looking over us.

Grace, Troy and family – Our hearts go out to all of you. We were so sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. I will remember him always – his quick, dry sense of humour always made me laugh and his tremendous love and devotion to his wife, son and family never wavered. Our sincere condolences – Kim Lacharite/Leo, Joanne DiCastri, Nadine and Bernie Lawless.

When I was new to the Saanich store he was kind, helpful and made me smile and feel included….I know you will all miss him very much ….he was just too young to go so soon. Bonnie

I will always remember your crazy sense of humor, your pretend grumpy disposition and the way your face would light up when you talked about your beloved Grace, Troy and Conor.
You were more than a friend to me and I will miss watching you laugh until you cried, the fatherly advice that you would give (even when I didn’t want to hear it) and the way you called me “kid”.
My heart goes out to all that knew and loved Jerry, the world has lost a good one.
Rest peacefully my friend, you will be missed dearly.

I will always remember my uncle Gerry every Christmas as some of my fondest memories of him was him wearing big red Christmas sweater that he would wear every Christmas Eve ❤️ Rest In Peace
