With grieving hearts, we sadly announce the passing of our well loved Giancarlo Chelini who immigrated to Canada from Italy in the 60’s. Always a brave face, a man that was so strong and courageous beyond words, who fought so hard to stay with us as long as he could, until the sad day March 18th, 2017 when his battle came to an end.
He will always be alive in our hearts. Until we meet again, we love and will miss you so much.
Left to mourn, his wife of 59 years, Loredana; daughters, Loretta (Mike), Denise (Mike), Debbie (Daryl); grandchildren, Sabrina, Daniella, Matteo, Francesca; brothers, Ivano (Luigina) Franco (Mara); sister, Lilliana; in-laws and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
A small private family funeral was held, therefore, no service to be announced.
We thank-you for your condolences.

Dear Loretta and Family:
It was a privilege to meet Giancarlo at Loretta’s wedding shower. Over the years, Loretta mentioned his devotion to family, events he enjoyed, always appreciated, honored, and spoke highly of her Dad.
My deepest condolences to you and your family, our prayers are with you always. Sending our love and comfort from my family.

Giancarlo was always a very good man to me. I had some of the best times of my life while he was present. Rest in peace to an awesome father and grandfather. See ya on the other side friend.
Dear Loretta and family: Giancarlo Chelini – what a wonderful name and after reading the previous tributes, what a wonderful, loving family man. Our sincere condolences go out to your entire family. I only know of your father, Loretta, from Deanna, but I see he was a very caring man who leaves his family with many happy memories.
A loving wife, married 59 years, children and grandchildren, brothers and sister, nieces and nephews, I only hope the sympathy and caring of your many friends and family will be of some comfort during this sorrowful time.

Dear Loretta and Chelini family: When I think of Giancarlo, I immediately think of welcoming smiles and a gentle spirit – he always had a kind word. We had good times at the bowling events — great dinners, dances, picnics and banquets – I will always have these memories. Hope that all your loving memories will bring you peace and comfort. He will be sadly missed.
Loretta and family: So very sorry for your loss. Our most sincere condolences to you and your family. Our parents will always be in our hearts and forever loved for the sacrifices they made for us (their children), to leave their home and families for a better life here in Canada. We are so blessed to have been brought up in loving, caring families full of traditions and unconditional love. May your sweet dad rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a family member isn’t easy, whether it’s a cousin, father, mother, or sibling. I wish I could say or do something to take all the pain away, but I know I can’t. But what I do know is that he loved you and your family very much and looking down on you saying, “God, I raised a beautiful daughter, and lucky to have such a supporting and amazing family.” He’ll be watching over you all everyday and I think it’s such a gift to have someone as special as him to talk to, have a shoulder to cry on or even if it’s just a hug. He touched all of your hearts in many ways and will be in your memories forever, through photo albums, home videos, and in your hearts and souls. He was a wonderful friend, father and husband, and will be greatly missed. Hang in there, and be there for each other.
