Don, Chris Nick and families. I was so sad to hear of Gill’s passing. I worked with Gill at EBC for many years in finance & admin, we had lots of fun working together! Working through the craziness of a general election Gill was always so worried about making a mistake. Gill was so conscientious, I told her no worries Gill, we have journal vouchers – we can fix anything! During general elections, we would go for coffee and I would give her a daily happy pill. Although I haven’t seen Gill in a long time, I will always have good memories working with her. My condolences to you all.

I worked with Gill at EBC. Gill was a lot of fun and I loved talking with her especially all the hockey stories and trips when she visited her Mom in England. I was sorry to hear the sad news my true condolences to you Don, Chris, Nick and the rest of the family.

Don, after 15 years I ran into Marty Faa just yesterday . I don’t think it was a coincidence. He gave me this sad news, which I am sorry to hear, and I am sorry for the loss of your wife Gill. It all seems unfair and too soon. I remember how you enjoyed telling me one day in the cheese room about how you first met Gill in a pub. That was a precious moment and I am sure you have had many precious moments with Gill since that time.
I am a Christian myself, and from what I know to be true, in the not too distant future we will all be together again, and will once more be able to share many more precious moments together with those we know, love and have gone to be with the Lord before us. I know the present may be hard and difficult , but we still have good things to look forward to in the future. God Bless you Don……Bob

    Dear Don and family,

I met Gill at two Oak Bay High reunions (class of 1967). Don, you and I were in the same division, as you may recall. At the last reunion you and Gill were seated beside me and Gill and I chatted as if she too were one of our alumni and I felt as if I had known her forever. Gentle, kind and fun……what a loss! Please accept my sincere condolences. Your family remains in my thoughts and prayers.
    Very truly yours,
    Deborrah Krutzmann (nee: Metcalfe)

  • Debbie Lefebvre

My first job after being a stay at home mom was with EBC. Gill sat beside me and very patiently showed me how to enter voter data information. We worked hard but we also shared so many laughs. I can still picture/hear Gill’s cheeky little laugh.
My condolences to Don, Chris, Nick and the rest of the family.

I can’t believe my lovely aunt is no longer with us. Although we have always been on opposite sides of the Atlantic, I always felt close to her and looked forward to her and Don’s trips to England. I was also lucky enough to be invited to stay in Victoria for a month in 1988 and I will always appreciate the time we all had together then. My condolences to you all.

There are some people who come in to your life and touch you – no rhyme or reason. This was Gill to me. Although we didn’t know each other well she had an impression on me. She exuded a genuine kindness that was hard to ignore.
My love and thoughts are with you all. Kirsty xo

  • Victoria Watkins

Sincerest condolences to you all. Gill was such a special person to me and I can’t believe there won’t be anymore giggles and reminiscing about Grandma, her mum. But I hope they’re together now with Grandpa having more fun and hysterics.
She will be very much missed by all the people she touched with her bright light of life.
Love to you all at this difficult time.
