Gordon Chun Pang Chung, 90, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026,
leaving behind a lifetime of quiet love and devotion that will never be forgotten. Born on November 11, 1935, in Canton, China, Gordon’s life was a testament to humility, hard work, and deep and constant care for others.
Survived by, his wife of 58 years Josephine, & children Wayne (Milene) and Angela; and grandchildren Karissa, Kaylah, and Cole who brought him great joy and pride.
Predeceased by his brother Peter; He is survived and lovingly remembered by his brothers, Richard and Patrick (Sylvanna), and his sister, Lisa as well many nieces and nephews who will forever hold close the memory of his gentle nature.
Gordon immigrated to Canada on July 23, 1963 and established roots in Brandon, Manitoba where he first met Josephine to which they later relocated to Victoria, British Columbia
On October 25, 1967 at Victoria BC, he married the love of his life, Josephine. Together they built a life grounded in dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to their family. He was a devoted, proud and caring father to Wayne and Angela, showing his love not only through words, but through steady support, long hours of work, and a constant concern for their well-being.
Gordon spent 35+ years in the food service industry, where his strong work ethic and sense of responsibility defined him. He worked tirelessly and without complaint to provide for his family, never seeking recognition and never putting himself first. He retired at the age of 65, having given his family the security and care that meant everything to him. His work ethic and quiet determination were expressions of his love and responsibility.
A private and humble man, Gordon found happiness in life’s simple moments. He was known for his compassion, patience, and deep understanding of others. He was never selfish — always thinking of how others were feeling, always wanting to make sure everyone around him was okay. His kindness was quiet but constant, felt in the way he listened, the way he worried, and the way he was always there when it mattered most. He found happiness not in material things, but in knowing his family was cared for and safe.
His strength was his gentleness, and his legacy is of selflessness, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. Through his example, he taught those around him the true meaning of love, sacrifice, and integrity.
More than anything, Gordon will be remembered as a loyal and loving husband, a devoted father, and a truly good and honourable man. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always will be present in the hearts of those who knew him.
