At the age of 64, Grant Undershute was promoted into the presence of the Lord at his home in Victoria, BC on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Grant was born on January 12, 1946 in Eston, Saskatchewan and grew up in Isham, where he discovered the freedom of adventure, which he applied all through his adult life. Those around him loved his spontaneity, humour and passion for life. Childhood sweethearts, Grant and Lenna, reunited in 1990 and married at the Isham farm July 3, 1994. As a mechanical engineer, Grant had offices in Calgary, Kelowna and Vancouver slowly migrating to the West, ultimately reaching his dream destination of Victoria, BC where he practised for 22 years. He was always an active member in various organizations such as Victoria Full Gospel Fellowship, ASHRAE, Cool-Aid Society, The Mood Swing Orchestra, Victoria Golf Club and the Sterling Men’s Group.
He is survived by his wife, Lenna; his children, Jolaine, Luraina, Jeremy and
stepchildren, Danton, Cheri and Twyla.

A Memorial Service is being held at l:00 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Grant’s memory would be appreciated to Victoria Hospice, 1510 Fort Street, Victoria, BC V8S 5J2. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

We bid farewell to our loving husband, father and friend;
Generous, humorous, always having a hand to lend.
He will be missed but we know he is free
In Heaven by Jesus’ side now forever he will be.

    As a contractor, I worked on many of Grant’s mechanical systems designs. Over the years, we developed a friendship that I enjoyed and appreciated very much. Grant was a wonderful human being, considerate to others always, his humor injected into just about every circumstance left me smiling every time we spoke. Grant is a man for whom I have tremendous respect…I will miss him but I will never forget him..
    I would like to pass my warm regards to Grant’s family during this difficult time.

    I was greatly saddened to have learned of Grant’s passing last week. Having known Grant since he arrived on the Island, he and I enjoyed a great business relationship over the years which deveolped into a friendship. I was at his service on Saturday and was deeply moved by the stories related by his family. Especially those of his children. It showed how much of an effect he had on his family and his friends. He was a gentleman; honest and true. He will be missed. He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten.

    I shared the verse with Grant “for me to live is Christ and to die is gain” and he indicated to me that he was well prepared to meet His Master, even though parting from this family and loved ones was difficult. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lenna and family but we do look forward to a great reunion one day.

    Love and blessings, Ron and Dorothy

    In spite of the fact that Grant and I have not spent much time together over the years, I have had the pleasure in working for him on occasion while also finding out that he was a brother in Christ. I am saddened by the news of his departure from this world knowing full well we will meet again in the next.

    My prayers for the family are for peace and comfort knowing full well that while he is absent from the body… he is present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)

    May our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ bless the family during this time of loss but also uplift their hope in Christ that will one day reunite his family. Amen
