December 7, 1924 to June 18, 2012
Hazel was deeply committed to her family and her faith. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Jack; her five children, Gerry (Rudy), Jim and Mira , Leary and Colleen, Cindy and Jim Robertson and Joanne and Dan Porteous. Hazel spent many happy days with her grandchildren, Justin and Nicole Redmond, Lisa, Kristen and Adam Redmond, Christopher, Tyler and Danielle Porteous and great-grandchildren, Jack, Henry and Hailey. Hazel is survived by her brother, Ernie (Gloria), in laws, Leary, Donna and Ted along with several nieces and nephews. Hazel spent her life in service to others through her nursing care at St. Joseph’s, Jubilee and Mount St Mary’s Hospitals and her volunteer work through the Catholic Womens’ League and pastoral care. The family would like to thank the nurses and volunteers at Victoria Hospice as well as Dr. Buckley and Dr. Humphreys for the great care Mom received.
Prayers will be offered in ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH, 2060 Haultain Street at 7:30 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2012. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH at 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 22, 2012. In lieu of flowers, Hazel asks that donations be made to Victoria Hospice Society. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
