Born July 3, 1922

On November 5th, Albert passed away peacefully in Victoria BC. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dora, two daughters, Kate & Joan and Joan’s two sons, David & Adam. He is also survived by his sister Jeanne of Calgary and his brother Roland (Vivian) of Pipestone Manitoba and many nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his brothers Henry (Betty) and Arthur (Ruth) of Calgary Alberta.

Born to Octave and Rose Henuset, Albert and his four siblings were hard-working children who grew up on the family farm and attended Belleview’s one-room schoolhouse. His favourite playtime was tinkering in his father’s blacksmith shop, inventing tools with his brothers. His greatest hero was his Grandpa Gonty.

Albert enlisted in the Air Force in 1941 and served overseas as a tail-gunner on a Lancaster bomber. As a veteran, he completed high school matriculation at Tyee Road School in Victoria and attended Victoria College where he met his future wife, Dora Steven, in summer classes. After their marriage, Albert completed his degree in Physics at UBC. In 1954, he and Dora sold all that they had in Vancouver and moved to Midale, Saskatchewan to begin their business ventures in the oil patch. Albert worked on Oil Rigs, Pipelines and finally settled in the Float Equipment business in Edmonton in 1963 where he worked for 45 years creating his company and greatest pride – Top-Co Industries.

Albert’s family wishes to thank Dr Mathes, Dr Jenkins, Dr Yee and Dr Mildenberger, and Dad’s many nurses and therapists for their care of Albert through the past few years. Special thanks to our Cheng (Roselle Bersalona) for her endlessly patient care of Dad and Mom for the past 2 ½ years.

A Visitation will be held at MCCALL BROS. on Thursday, November 17th from 6:30 to 8:30pm. A Funeral Service honouring Albert will be held at 11am, November 18th at the ST. Dear Dora and Family,
Albert was one of the early members of the Vancouver Island Aircrew Association, founded 20 years ago, and we became good friends. We were only sorry that he had to spens o mucy time away in Alberta. We were saddened by his accident at work, and we cannot say how sorry we are for you to lose him, as we are. It is always much too soon.
We particularly want to express our admiration to Kate and to both David and Adam for their wonderful eulogies. We will keep an affectionate eye on Dora; and we wish David and Adam all possible success in their careers.
    Fondly,
    Jack and Rika

  • Gordon & Beverley Lough

Beverley and Gordon Lough offer their sincere condolences and love to Albert and Dora’s family.
Although it was only through recent meetings at the Victoria Aircrew Association that Gordon and Albert met, it was soon obvious that we had travelled many common paths. Had we met during our RCAF days, post-war college in Victoria, or University in Vancouver, a happy meeting would certainly have forged a long friendship.

Hello Dora, I saw a picture of a young Albert Henuset in the Edmonton Journal this morning. He had a long and interesting life; the time I spent with Albert was always interesting. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know you and Albert during the time we all spent as pioneers at Swan Hills. Albert left us with a lot of good memories.
