October 30, 1939 – August 14, 2011. With great sadness we announce the passing of Hotze at Victoria Hospice. She is the beloved wife of Berling; mother of Moshin (Christina) and Deishin (Eric); and grandmother of Maia, Elena, Ian, and Alec. Hotze was a caring, generous, and beautiful person who touched the lives of many.Born in Taiwan, her life’s journey brought her to Canada in 1974, first to Toronto and then to Victoria. Hotze was a loving caregiver for her family, and indeed for anyone who needed a helping hand. She will be dearly missed.
The Lee family is grateful for the compassionate care provided to Hotze by the hospice palliative care staff of the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sequoia Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, on Friday August 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Hotze to the Buddhism Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation of Canada, 8850 Osler Street, Vancouver, BC V6P 4G2. Holly McDonald I was deeply saddened to read Daisy’s obituary. I used to carpool to Tai Chi with Daisy when she went to the night class at the Chinese school. I shall always remember Daisy with her beautiful smile. She made me feel welcome at the Tai Chi classes with her friendly nature. My condolences to you, Berling, and to your children and grandchildren who I know were so very special to Daisy. What a great loss!
We are very sad and missing our dear Daisy, a wonderful neighbour and lovely special friend.
Daisy was always ready to help anyone in our family with anything she possibly could do for us…. soup for a cold, warm dumplings for a hungry stomach, cookies for the children, lunch date for our birthday, a beautiful smile and warm hug for comfort….and so much more.
We think about Daisy everyday, we talk about her often, we hold her in our heart forever.
