Peacefully on September 8, 2008 in the Victoria Hospice, at the age of 76 years. He is survived by Erma his loving wife of 49 years; two sons, David (Paula) and Paul (Gail); two grandchildren, Christopher and Laura; three brothers, Koos, Jan and Nic; his sister, Leny and their families. Music was close to Hugh’s heart, having sung with the Dofasco Chorus for 45 years. He was an avid gardener who gave pleasure to many through his efforts. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in ST. ANDREW’S CATHEDRAL, Blanshard and View Streets, on Friday, September 12th at 12:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined; tributes, if desired, may be made to the Victoria Hospice Society, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria, BC, V8R 1J8.
