Ian Arthur Galliford

April 23, 1917 – May 30, 2013

Ian entered into His courts with praise in the early morning of May 30th, 2013. His transition to eternity was most peaceful and seamless, as we would expect of one who lived his entire earthly life as near the boundary as any mortal could. Teacher, mentor, musician, steadfast friend, adopted God parent and uncle to many, he was so good to us.

Requiem Mass, reception and Interment at 1:00pm. Friday, June 7th, 2013, at the Church he loved, St. Barnabas, 1525 Begbie Street. Condolences may be offered below.

  2. I fondly remember Ian Galliford from when he was organist and music master at St. Andrew;s College, Aurora, Ontario Canada sometime between 1945 and 1948. I was one of a few S.A.C.students at that time interested in organ music, so listening to Mr. Galliford play was a great pleasure. I recall that we once persuaded his to play boogie-woogie on the piano! I was glad to learn that he led a long life, and that he left fond memories with others, me included.
