Ida was born in Seattle, Washington April 7th, 1914. She was the only child of John and Evelyn McAllister. Predeceased by husband of 48 years George in 1982 and son John (Jack) in 1998.

Survived by sons Keith (Margaret), Vern (Denise), Wayne (Marilyn), daughter-in-law Lyna, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends, whom she loved dearly.  Ida spent some early years in Vancouver, North Van and Victoria. The Family settled in Esquimalt where she spent many happy years. She had fond memories which she shared in her fabulous stories about family history that that will be remembered and passed on to future generations. One of her cherished memories was with George living in Hudson Hope while George worked on the Peace River Dam from 1967- 1970. Ida’s love for flowers and roses and tending to her garden were a passion. When weather didn’t permit one could find her at yet another favourite pastime knitting, crocheting, listening to music or playing her family piano and always ready for tea whenever anyone dropped by to visit.  She was kind and compassionate with a wonderful sense of humour and an inspiration to us all and will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.

There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
