Passed away suddenly in Victoria, BC on January 12, 2010. He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1956. Predeceased by his parents, Joyce and Ron Connick. Survived by his son, Kyle; sister, Sheril Connick; girlfriend, Arlene Radford & her son, Reuben and many extended family and friends. Prior to moving to Victoria, Ike worked for many years on the oil rigs in Alberta, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. After moving to Victoria, Ike began a new career with Public Works for Esquimalt and later for the City of Colwood. Ike was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing and action shooting. He was a long time member and was on the executive of the Victoria Fish and Game Club. Ike was a kind and gentle person who dedicated much of his time to helping others. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

A gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #107-1001 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8X 4C9.

I am truly saddened by Ike’s death. Ike was more than just a friend; he was an amazing person who was always generous, gentle, kind and considerate, willing and ready to help everyone he met.

His passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him, loved him, and worked with him. His memory will always remain deep within my heart.

My sincere thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, especially his son Kyle, and his sister, Sheril Connick.

May the Angels in Heaven welcome you home, my friend.

    With deepest sympathy,

    Lumun Ato

I wish to extend my condolences to the friends and family of Ike.
Like his father before him, I met Ike up at the range and took an instant liking to him. Not a hard thing to do given his easy going disposition and willingness to help others. He struck me as someone who always went the extra mile without thinking about what was in it for him. A rare occurance in this day and age where “me” always seems to come first. A true gentleman.
    Rest in Peace Ike.

Ike was one of the nicest fellows that I have known
