Steve Miller Anita, Jana and Mardee, our thoughts are with you and your families at this difficult time. Your mum, Aunty Ila Mae to us, seemed to always be close by, in the earlier years of visiting with family around Victoria, as well as in more recent decades of getting together with everybody at the Sooke cabins. She always asked how we were doing, and showed her typical concern and caring by taking the time to listen to what we had to say. Love to you all, Steve & Julie Miller and family.

Kim Blades On behalf of the staff and students of Evelyn Richardson Memorial Elementary School, we would like to extend condolences to our teacher and friend, Mardee, on the loss of Ila Mae. Mardee, it is obvious that you not only resemble your mother physically, but were kindred spirits as well. May the fond memories of your mother carry you through the difficult times.

Joy Yokoyama I have wonderful memories of visits with Auntie Ila Mae in Victoria and Ottawa. In particular, I remember one time in Ottawa when I was very young and Auntie Ila Mae indulged me in pretending we worked in an office and she left me memos. She was a lovely lady.
Our deepest sympathy to Jana, Mardee, Anita and families.

Patti Miller We’re thinking of you all cousins, with much love, sympathy and understanding. We share in many wonderful memories of Auntie Ila Mae, or as Mike as a very little boy always mistakenly called her – Auntie Anna Mana May…. : ) Mom always patiently smiled, and attempted to correct him. Aunt Ila Mae’s kindness, soft laughter and that constant, knowing twinkle in her eye will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, or to call her ‘Auntie’. I think of our many Saturday night visits to Smuggler’s Cove Road as kids, how much fun we all had together with our cousins, and how your Mom made her home such a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. There was always something cooking or baking in the kitchen that smelled wonderful – and there was always plenty of laughter. We’ll all have our own special memories of your wonderful Mom and Grandma, and she’ll continue to live on in our hearts, always. I’m sure that Mom (Auntie Peggy) is excitedly showing her around, and there’s a big, happy reunion of those greeting her who also love her very much. Much love to each of you.

Jean Yokoyama Dear, Anita, Mardee, Jana and families I join with you in mourning the loss of Auntie Ila Mae. She has had a special place in my life and my family. I am now the next in line.
I remember Christmas times in my youth, visits at Pitcombe Place, times at Mill Bay. I especially remember visiting when I would return to Victoria as an adult and her joy to see me.
I think of her now more alive than she has ever been with the Lord and with family and friends.
I wish I could be with all of you on Wednesday but will carry you in my heart.
Much love
Jean
