We will always have many lovely memories of Ione. The birthday visits at the Ditchburn cabin, running into her in the grocery store or when she would drop by our cabin. Shawnigan Lake is a link for so many families. We are still holding on, so feel free to drop by any time to share the past. John and Judy

Jim, Gerry I am so very sorry to hear of your Mom’s Passing. I can remember first meeting your Mom when she and Jim came over to our cabin at Shawinagan Lake to talk to my Grandfather about the lots he had for sale next to our cabin. From that time on I recall your Mom as a fine, friendly, caring LADY! When I recall those times and what we called the HMD trio, my first recollection is of your Mom and her many kindnesses. She will be missed!

I want to express my condolences to all the family and friends of Ione. I grew up calling Ione my aunt but she was really my cousin. When my mother Sylvia died in 1998, Ione and I established a rapport and really became friends. We hung out together whenever I visited Victoria (and kept in touch over the phone). I enjoyed her company immensely. On my visit in 2003 Ione drove us around Victoria and we looked at the different places where she and my mom had lived over the years. A few of the current residents even invited us in. It was a great day and I’ll always remember Ione fondly and the friendship we had. Rest in peace, Ione.
