Irene Madeline Hollos (Dupuis) of Sault Ste. Marie/Sooke BC passed away gracefully at home on Tuesday November 13, 2012 after a 27 year battle with Cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as she left to be with our Lord.
Irene was best known for her generiousity and compassion for others. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her perogies, pies, butter tarts and chocolate chip cookies.
Irene also enjoyed gardening and received many beautification recognitions for her love of flowers (especially tulips). She always had a classy finishing touch on projects and care packages sent to family, friends and less fortunate. Irene took that extra time to make sure people felt loved.
Irene is survived by her husband of 53 years Mihaly Hollos; her three sons Michael (Carole) of Timmins, Ont; Frank (Marlene) of Red Lake, Ont; Shawn (Denise) of Timmins, Ont and daughter Michelle (Pat) Wass of Sooke, BC. Irene had many grandchildren and greatchildren who she never seemed to forget their birthday!
Irene came from a large family herself and is survived by her sisters Monique (Jerald) Shook, Yvette (Ron) Lapointe and Jack (Charlotte) Dupuis and many many nieces and nephews. She loved us all very much and treasured her family.
We will miss you more than words can say mom but we know that you are with the angels looking over us and free from anymore pain and suffering. God wanted you back and we were so blessed to have you for 68 years.
You are beautiful mom , from the inside out and will always shine bright in our hearts.

Tunde RETI To Mr. Hollos and Family. I would like to send my condolence at this time and let you know my thoughts are with you. I will never forget the impact Mrs Hollos had on my life as a young girl always being so kind and loving when I would come over and visit. I always admired the way she decorated the house and always had more energy than anyone else I knew. During my limited visits to the Soo as an adult I would try and visit her either at the new house on Glasgow Ave or the coffee shop at the clinic. I always felt a warm welcome in her smile which always brought back memories of the comfort I always felt while growing up. Mrs Hollos will always be remembered and have a special place in my heart. I am very greatly to have had such a wonderful person mentoring my growth and decisions which still impacts me at times as an adult. My prayers are with you.

Melanie, Steve, Morgan et William Couture Vous allez tellement nous manquer Mme Irene. Les enfants adoraient vos merveilleux biscuit tout chaud, sortit du four…. et Steve pour votre bon pain chaud… Vous etiez une voisine et amie merveileuse… On adorait aller “piquer” une petite jasette avec vous l’autre bord de la rue! On aimait bien parler en francais avec vous. Ca nous rappelais notre chez nous au Quebec! VOus allez rester dans notre coeur et on pensera a vous tres souvent.. Quand nous regarderons votre merveilleux jardin tout en fleur, on saura que vous y serai a veillez sur votre merveilleuse famille…
