On January 13, 2011, our beloved father passed away peacefully at home. He was born in Fort William, Ontario on October 23, 1920. During WWII, he served on radar stations in Europe and Africa. After the war, he obtained his Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Toronto. While there, he met and became engaged to Lennie Carruthers. They were married in Fort William and he began his career with Ontario Hydro, working at hydro electric stations in Northwestern Ontario. The Hydro Community of Cameron Falls was a wonderful place to raise three young children. His job took the family to Toronto, where he volunteered with the Scarborough Distress Centre. After retirement, Jim and Lennie moved to Victoria and joined the Gordon Head United Church, where they found a real sense of community and made many friends. Jim continued his volunteer work with Volunteer Victoria. He was predeceased by his brother, Dan and on December 5th, 2010 by his wife, Lennie. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan (Nick); his sons, Jim (Sue) and Ken (Dorothy); grandchildren, Daniel, Corwin, Amos, Graham, Tristan, James, Ben and Hanna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

We wish to thank the Beacon Workers and Community Nurses for their kindness and care. A Memorial Service in GORDON HEAD UNITED CHURCH will be announced at a later date. Condolences may be offered at www.mccallbros.com
