James Howard Holley

June 14, 1949 – August 16, 2012

We are saddened to announce that Jim passed away after a brief illness at the age of 63. Born in North Vancouver, son of Bill and Doreen, he was the third of four children. From Morocco to Myanmar, Turkey to Thailand – Jim loved to travel with his wife Jill and had recently retired from his career as a bridge construction inspector to pursue this passion. He most enjoyed his time in Southeast Asia, particularly in Laos.

Pre-deceased by his father Bill and his sister Bev, Jim is survived by his mother, sister and brother, his wife Jill and his two sons Adam (Vanessa) and Ian.

Dad, Jim, Jimmy: We love you and miss you. Now and always.

A celebration of Jim’s life will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2585 Dufferin Avenue in Oak Bay.

    Jim was a kind and gentle person who will be deeply missed in our Oak Bay community. He had the gift of making people feel as though he was never in a rush and always had the time to stop for a chat.

  9. I’m sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I’ll always remember my trip to visit him in winterpeg as a young teen. He picked me up at the airport, I was wearing a T shirt. He said: “get in you fool before you freeze to death!”
