WAKELEN, James Samuel passed away peacefully at VGH on December 31, 2007.

He was born in Victoria on July 11, 1913.

Predeceased by his sister Edith; he is survived by his sister, Irene; his nephews, Dennis (Judith), Douglas (Barbara); and his grand-nephews, Nathan, Bryan, Ryan and Rory. He will be greatly missed by family members and friends.

Jim was an expert boilermaker and blacksmith working in the whaling industry in the Queen Charlotte Islands in the 1930’s, for the Navy in Halifax during the war and for the Dockyard in Victoria.
