Born on May 5, 1931 in Canton, China. Emigrated to Canada in 1964 as a mail order bride to marry first generation Chinese Canadian George Lowe, a native of Victoria. They had two girls, 1965 and 1971. Together, they ran Allan’s Menswear in Colwood until George died in 1980. After selling the store, Jane invested in real estate and became a successful business woman despite having little experience, education, and a limited grasp of English. Passed away peacefully on October 11, 2012. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Colleen (husband William) and Tracy (husband Michael). Jane was an excellent seamstress, enthusiastic gardener, and determined bargain hunter. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, Matthew 10, Ella 7, Kiran 4 and baby girl Yau Haang 3 months. They miss their Poh Poh very much and will always remember her.
Service to be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, 1400 Vancouver Street at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 20th, 2012. Condolences may be offered below.
