McGOVERN, Janet “Nettie” passed away peacefully at Aberdeen Hospital on Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Wonderful wife of William (Bill); worshiped mother of Agnes (Donald), Janet (Peter) and Joe (Krista); revered Nana of Mairi, Fiona, Catriona and David.
Nettie was a Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Born in Lesmahagow, Scotland, Nettie emigrated to Canada on October 24, 1977 and took out Canadian Citizenship papers. Her interests included all sports, especially Calgary Flames and Stampeders and, played many sports in her earlier years. A role model in many phases of life, she will be greatly missed.
A service of remembrance will be held at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 2964 Richmond Rd., on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Elder Care Foundation, 1450 Hillside Rd., Victoria, BC V8T 2B7.
