Clarence Reser I first met Jasna Dujela forty-five years ago in the autumn of 1980. At that time, I had been quietly dating Viviana, Jasna’s eldest daughter. Viviana had for months been extoling her mother’s home cooked meals. As a bachelor, who did not cook much, I was keen to sample Jasna’s culinary output. One fine Sunday, I visited the Dujela family home in Victoria. Jasna was quick to invite me into her home and rapidly orient me to the meal that was on offer. She said ‘We are having pasta with meat sauce, if you like it, great, if it is not to your taste do not worry’. What followed was the best pasta that I ever had plus I received an introduction into Jasna’s fabulous style of hospitality. It has been my privilege to be Jasna’s son-in-law for forty-two years. I will always treasure the countless Sunday dinners at her table. She was legendary for her food, her hospitality, and for her warm and inviting nature. In life, it is our fond memories that we can treasure above all else. I am sure that Jasna will set a new and higher standard at the great table in heaven. May she rest in eternal peace.
Condolences to you Esther, and to all your family. May your loss be equaled by the knowledge that your mom now rests in God’s loving care.
