My name is Josephine Keller I am a casual housekeeper at Glenwaren Lodge. I had the honor of knowing Jean for almost 3 years. Jean and I would speak of Winnipeg. I spoke and Jean would
nod and give that big wonderful smile. My daughter was born at St. Boniface in 1966. Had I known Jean was there at that time we would have disscused my first meal after giving birth. It was spaghetti and green beans. Not knowing the noutrition value at the time. I have never forgotten that meal 45 years later. Knowing Jean at Glenwaren
is a memory I will cherish. My thoughts are with the famileyand many friends on this day of remembering. Jean’s many accomplishments and dedication to others Jean will be in our hearts to day and forever .

So sorry to hear about Jean. When I think of her I remember her cheery smile & greeting, and her group of friends from Home Ec. I know that she will be missed by many people. On a personal note, I think of her with gratitude every time that I open a jar lid that is particularly difficult. Her solution was just one of the kitchen tricks that she taught me. She was a delight to know.

I’m very sorry to hear that Jean has passed away. I hadn’t seen her in many years, but I always looked forward to visiting her with my parents, John and Muriel Steele. I have especially fond memories of her cottage at Ponemah, where she always welcomed us with kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by our whole family.

I was very sorry indeed to receive the sad news of Jean’s death from my sister, Muriel, in Winnipeg. Jean was a lovely person and I was able to enjoy her company on a number of occasions in Winnipeg, at her cottage, in Victoria and when she paid a visit to Largs, Scotland. She will be greatly missed. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

Thinking of you all at this time. Dad and I were talking this weekend and he remembered the lovely meals he enjoyed at Jean’s home. You’re in our hearts and prayers.

  • Janice Earl

My sincere condolences to you all.
I first met Jean in 1970 when she hired me for my first position as a dietitian. I worked with her for about 10 years, but continued to be in contact for many years even after she moved to Victoria. I greatly admired her as a person and a professional. I often said that she taught me many things as a dietitian and those practises guided me through my career, She had the ability to put all people at ease no matter who they were or what they did. She was truly a wonderful lady. I often think of her and will remember her always.
