Jean passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on January 16, 2013. Survived by her son Dale, wife Carol, granddaughter Wendy, four great grandchildren, her brother-in-law David and many nieces and nephews. Jean enjoyed the care and company of her two friends, both named Ann plus other women who were counselled and befriended by her. Many members of her extended family were very close to Auntie Jean and enjoyed her strong love for each of them and benefited from her life-long hospitality and excellent baking. We would like to express appreciation to the wonderful care Mom received in RJH 4S in the last week of her life. Thank you to Drs. Pengilly, Woss and Glen. A Memorial Service will be held on February 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm, Oaklands Chapel, 2736 Fernwood Road, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Imadene, Box 374 Mesachie Lake, BC V0R 2N0. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

When I think of my Grandma, I am very thankful to God for bringing her into my life. From the very first time that I met her, she showed me an an conditional love. She took interest in me and made me feel significant. I was her granddaughter through marriage and not birth but that never made a difference to her. It was as if she was there from the day I was born. She showed me how to be a lady, how to have manners at a table, how to cook, how to clean and so many other things. Yes, I was often kicking and screaming as she taught me but that didn’t discourage her too much. The one thing that she taught me about that I am eternally grateful for is the love of Jesus. She breathed it and showed me everyday if her life. She introduced me to Jesus and without that I am not sure where I would be now.

To many of you she was Jean, some of you she was Auntie Jean, but to me she was grandma. She will be missed but I know she is in The arms if Jesus celebrating her new life. I look forward to seeing her again one day.

Her love for God and the way she lived has made an impact on so many people. She taught me cake decorating, ceramics and many baking skills. I know you will miss her too, and know our love & prayers will be with you Dale & Carol. Love to you both, Bob &Marlene.
