So sorry to hear of Auntie Jean’s passing. I’ve always loved the photos my parents have of Jean & John’s wedding, she was such a beautiful women. I only got to spend a handful of moments with her over the years, on her trips back to England or when we were shown wonderful, warm hospitality in Canada, but I always felt our family connection across the globe and will remember her with great fondness and admiration. Love Katie, and children Milo & Naomi

Jean will remain in our memory for her sense of humour, wry wit and quick retorts. And her beautiful smile. She was a pleasure to be with at many morning coffees, lunches, and dinners, and our “Pub Pals” get-togethers every week. She knew the words to many songs that we remembered from growing up in the 40`s as we shared stories – both good and bad. It was a joy to know her and she will be greatly missed. Our condolences to John and all the family. Roger and Helen.
We are all so sorry to hear of the passing of my Auntie Jean, such a special and lovely person. With John, so welcoming of a young me and Natasha on our travels before our children arrived, seems so long ago. Lots of love to all from North Yorkshire, UK. Simon, Natasha, Sami, Hannah.
Skid and I spent many happy times with Jean and John in Canada on the many great holidays we had there.
I didnt realise she had been in hospital or that she was obviously very poorly. We seem to have been out
of touch these last few months something to do with my worsening Parkinsons but I will never forget our
fun times together and their kind hospitality. John and Skid had many great years together at Clacton High. School and now Jean and Skid are both at rest.Pease accept my sincere condolences. God bless you all.

John, How you will miss Jean after 66 years of loving and caring. Our relationship goes back even further than that to when we were in the same class at Clacton County High School, UK! How glad I am I made it to Canada 9 years ago on my 80th birthday ( the trip was a birthday present from my son) and that we got together with Ken ( also a former class mate) and Janet, also living in Victoria. I remember so well the warm welcome you and Jean gave me and our lunch at the golf club( this before you moved). I was full of admiration for your lovng care and Jeans’ fun-smile in the face of adversity. How you will miss her! Very best wishes and a big hug,Zoë. Tarifa Andalucia Spain
So sorry to hear of Mrs. B’s passing. I spent many days in that household, and many feedings with my feet under their table. My condolences to John, Katrina, Phillip, Jonathan and Kevin.
My condolences to John, Katrina, Philip, Kevin and Jonathan. Growing up and spending time with the Bartletts allowed me to see what a caring, wonderful person Jean was. I am sure that having eight children running around and misbehaving must’ve been trying for everyone involved, but Jean certainly never let that show.
She will be missed.

We are so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing! Ken and I always enjoyed our time with John and Jean as neighbors, and I had the very special pleasure of spending time with Jean in the stained glass club in our complex. She was such a special lady to all who knew her, and I know she will be sorely missed. One always says “we need to get together”, expecting one day to just do that. We regret we didn’t make the time to visit when we had so many chances.
