Jeffrey Craig Jackson

Jeffrey Craig Jackson passed away suddenly on January 3rd, 2014 in Victoria, BC. He was born on November 15, 1956 in Vancouver, BC.

Predeceased by his father Duncan Jackson in 2008, Jeff is survived by his wife Susan Shepherd and two children Parker and Georgia Jackson; surrogate sons Cliff (Melissa) and Derek Stefanuk, and grandson Charlie; sister Jill MacDonald (Gary), niece Jennifer (Michael) and nephew Lanny. Jeff will be also missed by his life-long friends Pat and Dennis Hobbs.

Jeff grew up in North Vancouver where he worked with his father at L&K Lumber. Jeff was a sports enthusiast. In addition to being a soccer scoring sensation in the 1970’s and 80’s with the AA League North Shore Saints, Jeff loved to golf. One of his proudest moments was when he got his 3rd hole-in-one while golfing with his son Parker at Morningstar. In addition to his athletic abilities, Jeff loved to have a good time, so with his charm and beautiful steel blue eyes, he was always a hit with the ladies as there wasn’t anybody that could dance better than Jeff!

Jeff worked in real estate for most of his adult life and was very respected in his field for his intelligence, diligence and passion for ‘doing the right thing’. Anyone that knew Jeff knew a man with an unfiltered sense of humor and a gigantic heart. Jeff loved to entertain friends and family with stories (real & embellished). He would inspire positivity in anyone and everyone. It was very common to find him surrounded by people that were roaring in laughter.

Please join Jeff’s Celebration of Life at McCall Bros. downtown, 1400 Vancouver Street, Victoria on Thursday, January 16th at 2:30pm. A reception will follow at the McCall family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory can be sent to the Greater Victoria Coalition to End Homelessness. http://victoriahomelessness.ca/get-involved/donate/

  1. We just heard about Jeff. Guy and I are so sad for your loss…he will be missed….but only in body. It was about 3 years ago in Nanaimo at Woodgrove mall, when my daughter and I bumped into him. It had been years since we saw him….he commented on how our daughter was so grown up…he commeted on his life and children, as well. We laughed bringing up some memories of the old days. It was so nice to see him. I remember when Guy and I hung out with Jeff, back in the day…. when there were no children….just socializing and hanging out….he was always so hilarious…we also celebrated our birthdays together…as we were both Scorpio’s. I will remember his eyes, his laugh and good times…for sure…Our thoughts are with you and your family.xxxxx

  9. Jeff was ready to go much sooner than we were all ready to let him. For four people that only knew each other for a short time, we were hooked! Jeff always made us feel welcome, with a smile, big hug/handshake and a “Hi Honey”. He made us roar with laughter, offered us good and caring advice, was an excellent golfing companion with true golf etiquette and we knew would do anything for us that we asked. He was a true gentleman whose friendship we valued and will both miss him dearly. Our hearts go out to all of you; Susan, Parker, Georgia and his family and friends.
    Love Rob and Mel
