A son, brother, uncle and great uncle.
Passed away the evening of January 11th, 2025. Born in Victoria, BC on September 25th, 1946 to parents Assie Kaur and Bunt Singh Bains.
Jerry was a huge sports fan and especially loved his Green Bay Packers football team. He played many years on the Victoria Shamrocks lacrosse team and even helped them win a few games. Jerry was best known as a tough guy in the Lacrosse box.
He worked for most of his life at the old Victoria plywood mill and in Vancouver at Sawarne lumber, on the chain.
Jerry was a very social guy, whom loved to crack jokes at the best of times. He was known as the ” Mayor ” of Fraser Street and could often be seen strolling up and down the road while greeting nearly everyone by name.
Jerry moved back to Victoria five years ago to be closer to his beloved Mother and enjoyed gardening as well as socializing with the neighbours.
He loved his nieces and nephews and would always want to take them for brunch or lunch or to the mall to buy gifts. They will all miss trying to teach him how to use his Tech devices & Cell phone.
He leaves behind his sisters Sarjeet, Jevan (Kalvin) and Harjeet; nieces and nephews Kerry, Kent (Darsh) Daylin Singh (Gurpreet Kaur) Kayla and Kara; great nieces Nidhaan Kaur, Sahaae Kaur and Siaana.
You will be greatly missed.
A Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, followed by Prayer Service and Langar at Khalsa Diwan Society (Sikh Temple), 1210 Topaz Ave, Victoria, BC.
