I knew Joan only through Lynda, her daughter, but knowing who Lynda is, and knowing how much of our mothers we carry on in us, I know that Joan Day was a wonderful, lively, compassionate and intelligent woman.

My heart goes out to the family in your loss. We will be praying for comfort and strength in the days ahead without her. You will miss her greatly even as you celebrate her life and all that she was to you.
