For the past 7 years, I have had the privilege to be Frank’s neighbour.
His gardening advice was second to none, and we will miss the conversations we had, whether it was along our daily walks past his house or over the fence between our back yards.

Frank would always offer to take plant clippings, or offer soil delivery or even surprise us with the occasional new plant being left on our side of the fence. His only accepted payment was a smile and a thank you.

His presence in our community will be sorely missed, Frank was the epitome of a good neighbour.

My deepest condolences to Dorothy, Robin and the rest of your family.

Dear Dorothy, Robin, Elaine, Amanda and Frank’s 3 Brothers & Families.
We have cherished a more than 20-year friendship with Frank, Dorothy and Robin as wonderful neighbours and fellow church members.
Frank was the most helpful and easy-going man that we have ever met, both at the church and at our home whenever a need arose.
Frank’s love of singing, and great piano playing, were always heart warming and pleasant to listen to.
Frank’s kindness and generosity to everyone made him a true Christian example for all to love and respect.
Frank and his little truck will be so truly missed in our community.
    God bless you All.

My condolences to the Turnbull family. I was privildeged to know Frank through his gardening work at my neighbours. On weekends, when I was in my own yard, we would have long conversations about when to plant, progress of the season and the plasures of working in the garden. with him. For the past several years, Frank was kind enough to give me a bag of quince from his own tree. It became a kind of late fall tradition and I looked forward to receiving them and reporting to him what I was going to do with them. I will have a lasting rememberence of Frank when I see a quince and I will miss my gardening conversations with him. My deepest sympatiies to you.

We love both Frank and Dorothy, and our hearts go out to the family of a loving and gentle man. Frank loved gardening and tended the grounds of the church, as well as of his home, with the utmost regard for the health and beauty of shrubs and flowers and for the nurturing of soil. And he loved music and singing. His last words to me were about the song he intended to sing (as a woman!) at the next Songmen singalong. I know he has joined the angelic choirs, his arms full of lilac.

  • Wendy Dunlop (nee Rothwell)

Dorothy, Robin and Family, my deepest condolences on your loss. Frank was a good friend to our whole family. We will all miss his gardening advice, assistance, talks and friendship. My mother, Gladys thought the world of Frank for his kind and considerate treatment of everyone he came across, including animals. I very much enjoyed our talk when my sister Pat and I visited last year and will miss seeing him when we visit my daughter, Lisa. God Bless All of You and take care of one another.

    Sincerely,

    Wendy Dunlop (Rothwell)

We are so sorry for the loss of a dear friend, fabulous neighbour and a kind, loving, and gentle soul who always loved conversation, helping people and a good chuckle.

Frank was the kind of neighbour everyone wants. He was always interested in giving everyone a helping hand, especially in times of need.
The neighbourhood will change without Frank there to share his wisdom, kind words and thoughtfulness – he will be truly missed.

I know when we think of Frank a smile will come to our hearts and if we listen carefully enough, we can hear him playing piano for the choir of angels….

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you mourn the loss of Frank, and we can only hope that this week will bring lots of smiles as memories of his life are shared.

  • Pat Rothwell

My thoughts are with you at this time of great loss. So sorry I missed seeing Frank last year when we visited. I remember Frank was always willing to help others, especially our mother, with whatever was needed and it was greatly appreciated by Wendy and I since we lived long distance. I hope that the good memories of Frank will help you during this sad time.

My deepest condolances on your loss. I have known Frank since I was little. My Grandmother Gladys Rothwell was Frank’s neighbour and I have great memories of spending summers in Victoria and the long conversations I would have with him. It was great to see him again this summer when we visited my sister Lisa who now lives in my Grandmother’s old house. He was always a very kind and considerate, and generous person. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I am so sorry for your family’s loss. Our family will be thinking of you during this difficult time.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Wolynec
