Dear Clara and Dennis and Family

We were very sad to hear of Gerald’s passing. Gerald was one of dad’s (Mur’s) old schoolmates from Stratton so they go back a long way. They also worked on the railroad together and then we all lived very close together in Rainy River. Gerald was always very kind to all and always had a nice comment when we passed him on the street or a friendly wave as he rode his bike by our house. I (Diane) have a vivid memory of him walking up Main Street carrying his bag to go to the railroad station to get on his train – always smiling. We speak of your family whenever I am back in Rainy (as I am now) and remember Gerald, Clara or as we called her ( Mrs. Marr)-our Grade 5 teacher and Dennis, our friend. We have great memories of your family and we are thankful for those.
Clara and Dennis we want to express our sympathy for your loss but we know that you also have wonderful memories too.
    Sincerely,
They Meyers Family Murray, Dode, Diane Skip and Bruce

My Dear Friend and Neighbor Gerry,
I look out from my breakfast table and see you puttering about in your garden and I think to my self, just how great full it is, to have a friend like thee. You cared for your garden, like you cared for others, with Love and Passion. How many times you were there to help, with your cheery smile and it’s no bother attitude, as in Love, Giving from the Heart, taking nothing in return, except the Joy of Giving.
Your mortal time has ceased, but your Love will carry on for eternity.

To your precious wife Clara, your Love and soul mate, for decades; your son Dennis, daughter in law Sharon, who blessed you with two wonderful grandchildren,Michael and Sarah, I offer my most sincere condolences.
There is a time to mourn and that shall be, but knowing Gerry, with that sly grin, would say, ” Rejoice in all the good and loving times we shared, from Rainy River to Rainy? Victoria, I’ve had a wonderful life; cry not at my mortal passing, for I am with you forever in LOVE”.
To Michael and Sarah; Care for my garden wherever it shall be, treat it with patience, compassion, love and the fruit it bears, will nourish you, in a way beyond simple words can define.

Gerry, we will miss your physical presence in our lives, but know that we need but to close our eyes and you are there.
I’ll miss you Gerry, you were one great man and it was my pleasure to have you as a Friend.

We pass on to Clara and family our thoughts and prayers in remembance of Gerry. A kind man and great neighbor with a warm and inviting smile and always a pleasant word. We will miss his great knowledge when it came to questions about gardening, as he was always a few steps ahead of the rest of us. Gerry had kind heart towards the development of children and his past involvement with Big Brothers and Sisters will always be remembered.
