While enjoying a much-anticipated family weekend in Chilliwack, BC, with Dola, Logan and Allie, Gilbert passed away after receiving exemplary care at Royal Columbian Hospital. Heartfelt appreciation to everyone in the Clover Point Care family who provided care and attention to his needs following his accident and brain injury in 2016.
A celebration of life will be held with his siblings in Lac-des-Aigles, PQ on September 20, 2023. A donation to the Victoria Brain Injury Society would assist others in the community who need help like Gilbert’s family was grateful to receive.
Je me souviens.

Gilbert was RRMC Liaison Officer assigned to accompany my brother’s body from BC to Ontario.
My brother was 1 of 4 Officer Cadets killed in a plane crash off Vancouver Island on January 24, 1988. Gilbert was a Godsend to our family during that difficult time. I feel blessed to have been able to visit with Gilbert, and meet Dola, while in Victoria, BC in 2018 (30 years after the crash). I am thankful to have been able to express my gratitude to him in person. It was a bitter-sweet visit that I will always cherish. RIP Gilbert and again, THANK YOU! My gratefulness for the kindness you showed us will never end.
