Sending my love to Grandma Kay, Maureen and Tom.

Such sad news to have lost such a wonderful man. So many memories come rushing back of my Grandpa Joe teaching me how to ski, paint, and playing in his beautiful Chinese garden. I am so thankful I was lucky enough to have him as my grandpa.

    You will be missed greatly.

    Becky

We are so sad to hear we have lost Joe, and are so grateful that we were able to spend a bit of time with him last summer. We feel so very blessed to have known him, and will miss his understated humour, his caring, integrity, & generosity. Bryce especially will miss those long political & philosophical discussions, & Rebecca will always cherish wonderful memories of her special (foster) Grandpa Joe. Rest in well deserved peace, Joe.

  • Clare and Harry McSorley

Each night our prayers to Our Heavenly Father include a request for Him to be compassionate to people we name, as well as to “all those around the world who are in frail health.” Joe had been on that list for a long time. Now we’ve
shifted him to the enormous list of “all the faithful departed”, which includes the vast array of those whose faith is known only to God. Joe’s faith was certainly known to all who spoke with him about anything beyond the weather or the stock market. And so was his hope and charity!

Clare happily remembers that it was Joe who invited us, back in the 80s, to join a little prayer and faith-sharing group in our parish called the Christian Life Community. It was there that we got to know this man–husband, father grand-father, friend in Christ. Inside and outside that group we knew Joe’s centre was Jesus Christ, the Source of his love for his wife, his family, his Church, and for all of us.

May he rest in Peace, and Rise in Glory, and may that Easter Faith and Hope he shared with us be our consolation.!

With love and prayers for you, Kay, Maureen, Larry, Tom, Molly and Meghan,

    Clare and Harry McSorley/Toronto

  • Tisha Lamboo

Please know Aunt Kay, Maureen and Tom that you are all in my prayers.

Reading the other condolence messages warmed my heart. I found my own memories of Uncle Joe come flooding back. The toast Uncle Joe made at my wedding, him wanting to know how Jerry got our lawn so green and taking down the fertilizer information. His thirst for knowledge was inspiring. The conversations we had sharing daily readings.

Kind, compassionate, gentle, accepting. So many beautiful qualities.

Very grateful for our visit in November and I will plan to come again in the spring.

    Love and prayers,
    Tisha and Jerry and family

We are sorry to hear of your loss. We have fond memories of staying at your home in Horseshoe Valley during our annual ski weekends. Lots of fun and good conversations. You will be missed by all who knew you.

  • Mary and Joe Daca

We are so sorry for your loss. Joe leaves this world a better place for having been here.

  • Charles and Shirley Kelly

Charles and I have so many happy memories of our times together with Joe and Kay—Hilton Head, Maple Leaf Estates, Horseshoe Valley and recently at Lake Simcoe; all the numerous ski week-ends and yearly retreats along with celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.
Joe could discuss any topic and was ready to solve all the world’s problems. It was no surprise he was crowned with the mitre “Pope Joe” on his 70th birthday.
We will miss our dear friend although we know he will be guiding us along our way.
Our sincerest sympathy to Kay and family.
Charles and Shirley Kelly — Toronto, Ontario
