Joyce Elizabeth Clough, born on October 2, 1935, in Victoria, BC, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025. Joyce was raised in Cordova Bay by Joesph and Annie McIntyre, alongside her older brother Joe. While young she moved to various places in Canada and the U.S. but came back to Victoria. She settled in the Langford area close to family and friends. She became an avid hiker. Joyce loved exploring the natural beauty of Vancouver Island, often accompanied by her dear friend Judy. Among her favorite places included East Sooke Park, Esquimalt Lagoon, and Thetis Lake. She loved to go on road trips and would drive to northern BC and Alberta to visit family and enjoy the views.
Joyce had a special bond with her grandchildren and was their greatest cheerleader and supporter at games, events, and graduations.
She also had a deep love for animals and was the grandma caretaker to numerous family dogs and cats. She was a passionate hockey fan who proudly supported the Vancouver Canucks. Joyce had quick wit and a dry sense of humour. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and joy touched everyone she met.
Joyce is survived by her children—Karen (Chris) Barber, David (Marilyn) Clough, Sheron (John) Chrysler, and Cheryl (Bill) Dallinger—and their respective families. Joyce is proceeded by her youngest son Vince who passed in 2010. Our family would like to thank the summit team for their compassionate care.
A remembrance for Joyce takes place on Saturday, September 27th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Aylard Farm in East Sooke Park. Friends, family, and acquaintances are welcome to attend. Address: 1 Becher Bay Rd, Sooke, BC V9Z 1B7. You are welcome to join the family for a short memorial Walk at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain Air Rescue Society (MARS) https://marswildliferescue.com
