Judith Marlene Carscadden, lovingly known as Judy, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, in the VGH, Victoria, BC.
It is with heavy hearts that we remember our mother, best friend, and rock. Judy was a loving and kind soul who brought warmth, laughter, and joy wherever she went. She was the life of the party and loved being surrounded by people. She enjoyed people-watching, sharing stories, and talking with anyone who came by. Everyone who knew Judy enjoyed her company.
The last five years were difficult for Judy as she faced many health challenges and obstacles. She also experienced the heartbreaking loss of the love of her life, Wayne Ballard, with whom she shared 39 years.
For the last six years, Judy’s daughter Kelly Uyesugi cared for her and supported her with her daily activities. Kelly was by her mother’s side throughout her final five years of health challenges—as her caregiver, her rock, and her best friend. She is grateful for every moment they shared and for the privilege of being there for her mother.
Judy leaves behind her children, Mora Uyesugi, Kelly Uyesugi, and Robyn Carscadden, whom she wished she could have had more time with. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Melissa Baitez and her husband, Stacy Baitez; Joshua Uyesugi-Gorman; and Paris Weiss and her husband, Randy Weiss; and Kya Carscadden
Her great-grandchildren, Anne Louise and David Carscadden, Aspen Rose Weiss and Ryder Eric Weiss, who is expected on August 31, 2026. Judy loved her time on the ranch with Paris, Randy and Aspen, she was so grateful to be there with her great grandchild Aspen Rose, who brought so much life to her.
Judy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. We will remember her kindness, her laughter, her familiar routines, and the love she gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29th, 2026, at 3pm at the Family Home in Victoria, BC.
