June 15, 1939 – April 17, 2013
June was born in England and came to Canada in 1963 to become the wife of Richard. June and Richard raised 3 children while obtaining several university degrees and an MBA. She taught business at St. Mary’s University in Halifax for 5 years before retiring and moving to Vancouver Island. Being an avid birdwatcher, June and Richard travelled to 82 countries around the world. June was a long time volunteer with the Maritime Museum and St. Anne’s Academy. After an eight year struggle with progressive super-nuclear palsy, June passed away in the comfort her home. June is survived by her husband of 50 years; 3 children, Deanna, Joelle, Steven (and their spouses, Peter, John and Chie) and six grandchildren.
A Celebration of June’s Life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the familybelow.
