Born in North Vancouver on February 23, 1928, died suddenly March 1, 2008 with her family at her side. At the centre of her life was her family. Predeceased by her devoted husband of 48 years, Chuck, in 2000. She is survived by her children, Jenny and Brian, grandchildren, Katherine and Tessa, brother Ian McTaggart-Cowan, and many nieces and nephews. Pam was a locally renowned architect, registered since 1956, a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and respected by all in the building industry. In practicing her profession, she was guided by the maxim, “Like enough to be understood; different enough to be interesting.” This is also how she lived her life.

Active in the community, Pam was especially proud of her 20 years with the Provincial Capital Commission, and her 10 years as Chair. Her strong, respectful style and desire for consensus was greatly appreciated by all who served with her. An avid gardener and lover of nature, she was also a past president of the Weaver’s Guild. She was an honoured and trusted friend of many and a truly remarkable woman. Her spirit will remain with all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Mustard Seed, 625 Queens Avenue, Victoria, BC V8T 1L9 or The Land Conservancy, 302 Denison Road, Victoria, BC V8S 4K3. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
