“Laurie” passed away peacefully at VGH on November 01, 2018. He was born in Victoria on November 14, 1930. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen and his grandson Richard, he is survived by his son Russell (Kim), nieces Sherri (Darwin) and Anne (Dave) and nephew Greg (Heather). He worked as a cartographer for the Provincial Government for 35 years.

He loved the outdoors, boating, fishing and camping with family and friends. He enjoyed going out for lunches with friends and loved to visit Esquimalt Lagoon with his binoculars and a good book. His humor, kindness and warm spirit will be with us always in our hearts and memories.

A special thank you to all of his caregivers at VGH, they were amazing and very supportive.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

No flowers, please. Tributes, if desired, may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the BC Cancer Agency.

Dear Russ and Family: Please accept our sincere sympathy. We had the pleasure of getting to know your Dad when he came to the Appletree Restaurant. He was such a lovely man, funny, charming a delight to be with. We enjoyed it when your Dad and his pals came in, such a wonderful friendship they all had.
