July 6, 1977-October 1, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Bath who left us way too early at the age of 38 from sudden heart complications. A loving father and husband Larry dedicated his life to family and work. He could not abide idleness and when he wasn’t turning a wrench on a Helicopter at work he was swinging a hammer at home. Larry was born in Brampton, Ontario moving to Victoria at the age of 2 years. He attended Lake Hill, Royal Oak and graduated from Claremont Secondary School in 1995. He then pursued a career in aviation mechanical engineering, graduating from BCIT and spent the majority of his working life with Vancouver Island Helicopter (VIH). He leaves to mourn his wife Niurka, daughter Anaya and step-son Alberto, parents Nelson and Jean Bath, brother Nelson (Sandra, Deidre, Bruce) brother Gregory (Teresa, Nathan, Emily, Michael), aunts, uncles, god parents and many friends. In his youth Larry was an avid Lacrosse, Hockey and Basketball player. Thanks to the paramedics for their efforts. Larry will be in our hearts forever.
A Visitation will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 pm Thursday, October 8, 2015 at McCall Bros. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 9, 2015 at MCCALL’S FLORAL CHAPEL AND RECEPTION CENTRE, Johnson & Vancouver Street, Victoria, BC with a reception to celebrate Larry’s life to follow. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

My sincere condolences to Larry’s family.
I worked with Larry on occasion for his overseas travels with VIH. Always happy and friendly, he greeted everyone with a bright smile and a cheerful hello.
My heart goes out to you all at this very difficult time, and will think of you as time goes on.
Warm regards,
Susan Lanigan
Very sorry to hear of Larry’s sudden passing. I had the pleasure of working at VIH and Larry was always a great guy & was always very happy & a smile when he got his pay cheque.
Condolences to Niurka & family.
RIP, Larry.
Very sad to hear of this!!!
I worked with Larry for many years, and I have always had the utmost respect for him as an engineer, and as a man…
My heart goes out to the family, he will be missed….
I was saddened to hear this news about Larry. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I hope you will find comfort in each other during this time and focus on the love and good times you shared with Larry.
Larry and I worked together for many years at VIH. We shared a lot of good times. I always respected and trusted him and I was in awe of his strong work ethic. I never hesitated to ask his advice and he was always happy to lend a hand. His grin and laugh were always quick to appear. I will miss him.
I am so sorry to lose Larry………cannot get my head around it. I will always remember him for his great personality and generally a really nice young man. I am thinking of you and hoping good memories will carry you through this very hard time.
Love. Gerry
Dear Jean,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your son, Larry. I am sure he was a wonderful man as any child of yours would be. My condolences.
As most, I am shocked by Larry’s death. I did not know Larry well, however what I do know about him was that he was always friendly, kind and respectful with me. I liked him and we would often say “Hi” in passing by at work.
My condolences to Niurka and their children.
We are so sorry to learn of Larry’s passing.
Hugs to all,
Love
Paul and all our family
It has been my honour to have known & worked with Larry since he was a young apprentice. The news of his passing has been a terrible blow to his friends and co-workers. May God bless you, his family.
It may be of some small condolence for Niurka and Anaya to know that Larry was admired & greatly respected.
With kindest regards,
Gord
