We say goodbye to a beautiful lady, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend after a courageous 18 month battle against melanoma cancer. A Lady to the End. Linda, always with a smile, carried herself with grace and dignity. Predeceased by her father, Carl and mother, Doris. Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Alan; her daughter, Tara; her son, Bryce and grandson, Tevne. A beautiful woman, a loving soul, a true friend and an ardent and expert shopper, her Visa’s may now rest in peace, as Linda continues her journey.
No service or flowers by request; a celebration of Linda’s life will take place at a later date. Memorial tributes may be made directly to Victoria Hospice, 3rd floor, Richmond Pavilion, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria, BC V8R 1J8. The family wish to recognize the outstanding care and attention provided to Linda and ourselves by the Victoria Hospice Palliative Care Team during this very trying time. Shocking news in The Calgary Herald this weekend. Obituary photo of Linda smiling says it all — that is how we remember her! Full of life and energy, well decked out, happy, cared for others, loved to renovate then move (!), loving mother to Tara and Bryce. Linda adored you, Alan. You respected and treated her so well.
It has been many years since we were members of the Calgary Newcomers’ Dinner Club. Then a group of us went “solo” for awhile.
“Seashells remind us that every passing life leaves something beautiful behind. May beauty live on in your memories and bring you peace.”
We extend our deepest sympathy to all the family.
Sincere condolences to Linda’s family and friends at this very sad time.
Memories came flooding back of Bridge lessons with Linda and her friends Margo and Sharon. We had great laughs.
With sympathy.

I wish to speak for many of us at Newcomers and the SWANS clubs that we so enjoyed getting to know Linda through club activities. She was always so welcoming to new members and supportive of club activities with her warm and outgoing personality. Regretfully many of us did not know of her illness and wish we could have supported her these past months. However, may you find comfort in knowing there are many of us who are thinking of your family today, remembering a lovely lady.
