Lonnie passed away peacefully after a courageous and determined decade-long battle with Huntington’s disease. She was born in Vernon, B.C., and at a young age confidently and passionately decided to enter the convent. She also spent many years as a nurse, another opportunity to be in the service of others, which was so in her nature. Intensely proud of her Irish heritage, she loved Irish music and its history.

She was predeceased by her father, Tom, and her brother Pat (Bev), and is survived by her mother, Beryl Boyer, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by her relatives and her long-time roommate and dear friend Bodil Huse, and Bodil’s extended family.

In keeping with Lonnie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, but all are welcome to the memorial mass scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:00 noon, in St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

Lonnie contributed to numerous charities, and in lieu flowers, donations may be made to a charity that holds a special place in your heart.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
