Loran went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2015 at the age of 50 years. He was born in Victoria, British Columbia on March 9, 1965. Loran’s death follows that of his father, Loran M. Knudson. He is survived by his loving mother, Teresa Knudson of Victoria; his brothers, Murray A. Knudson of Victoria, Miguel A. Knudson of Vancouver, Ronald R. Knudson of Victoria, Edward J. Knudson of Vancouver and his sister, Damaris M. Galhon (nee Knudson) and her husband Mandeep Galhon both of Victoria.
Loran was an excellent brother, friend and son. He had a great gift for anything technical. Whether it was rebuilding motors and cars or plumbing, electrical or building projects, he was highly sought after. He was determined and had a way to think outside the box and improvise, a trait learned from my father. Loran was very family oriented and in the past years and until his father’s recent passing, was very instrumental in his father’s health. From driving his father to doctors’ appointments, to meetings with the surgeons and sitting by his bedside, he was there. Loran had a passion for travel, cars, boats and the ocean. He lived life on his own terms and was fond of his select group of friends. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 2060 Haultain Street on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Father Ian Stuart officiating. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC Cancer Foundation in his memory. Flowers accepted as well.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I am so saddened by the news of the sudden passing of your Loran. I worked with him for a couple of years at Lumberworld and we had so many laughs together and it wasn’t till recently that we found out that we went to school together but he was a year younger and he thought that was funny!! I will miss him very much. My heart breaks for Loran’s family. I hope you all find peace after the pain in your hearts.

So sorry I could not be with you tonight. Someone once said “Grief is the price we pay for love….” Certainly true for your dear family this year. In my thoughts and prayers, Vicky

To Loran’s family and friends, I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Loran when he briefly worked at the Victoria Airport. We became friends around our common interest in computers. I will always remember Loran as a genuine and generous person. My thoughts are with you and I wish you peace.
Shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Loran, my past co-worker at Nedco and friend and fishing buddy. Much too soon. My very sincere condolences to all of the Knudson family. He was a true friend, helping me out whenever I asked for help. A great story teller and also lots of good fishing times. May you rest in peace, Loran

My deepest sympathies to the Knudson family… I remember Loran from long ago as we attended Camosun College together…hanging out driving around in his Red Buick Skylark on our breaks…listening to Billy Idol. I acquired Loran’s phone number and address just over a year ago and had been meaning to call him up… Catch up on things… I just waited to long… Fond memories of Loran that I will hang on to and always remember.
