After a short but courageous fight with cancer Lovro Sajko died peacefully at home on May 16, 2010. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Belosici, Croatia and is survived by his wife of 48 years Stefica Sajko, son Marijan (Sandra), daughters Mirjana (Kelly) and Nada (Tugo); his sisters Josephine (Nick ) Rudman, and Anica (Milan) Rudman in Croatia; his grandchildren Nikola Rados, Katica Rados, Alexsei Sajko and Stefanie Sajko. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many friends who have throughout the years shared their kindness with Lovro. He will be greatly missed and will be forever remembered for his caring nature and generosity.

Prayers will be offered at St. Leopold B. Mandic Church on 4081 Gordon Head Road on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leopold B. Mandic on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beacon Community Services Society in memory of Lovro Sajko at 9860 Third Street, Sidney BC, V8L 4R2.

I had the great pleasure to work with Lovro on many occasions, through his employment with Mike Geric.
We had many coffees and lunches together with Mike’s sub-trades.
I was the roofer, and I beleive, the only one, not from Crotia.
Please forgive me for that short-coming.

Diaz & Hope Family We are so very saddened to hear of Lovro’s passing. Lovro was a very kind, sincere, and giving man and will be greatly missed by all those that he touched. He is to be admired for all his kind acts but his greatest legacy was his family. He so very proudly spoke of all of you and your accomplishments and this was for him his greatest gift. Cherish these memories, for Lovro lived his life like most people dreamed to live theirs.

Fiona Hunter I was saddened to read Mr. Sajko’s obituary today. Although I knew him only briefly and in a profesisonal capacity, his kind and caring nature was very much in evidence. I very much enjoyed working with him. My sympathies to all of his family.
