Born January 23, 1921 in Groningen, Netherlands, took his last breath on Earth and his first breath in Heaven at 11:40 a.m. on March 31, 2010 with his daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons at his bedside. Bart’s wife, Anna, predeceased him last year will be laid in Bart’s arms when he is laid to rest. Bart will be loved and missed by son William, daughters Thea (Dennis) Caroline (Wayne); as well as grandchildren: Joshua (Lauren), Jason, Justin, Lena and Cindy; his “adopted” grandson, Clayton Ferguson, and his APPLE TREE FAMILY.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, Victoria and after the service Bart will make his last drive down Beach Drive to his final resting place at the Royal Oak Cemetery.
