The Clown’s Prayer

Lord, as we stumble through this life help us to create more laughter than tears, dispense more happiness than gloom, spread more cheer than despair. Never let us become so indifferent that we will fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged. Never let us forget that our total effort is to cheer people, make them happy and forget at least for a moment, all the unpleasant things in their lives. And Lord, in our final moment, may we hear you whisper: “When you made my people smile, you made me smile”. God Bless.

  1. Lyn was my “kissin cousin.” Even as young children she was special to me. One of my last memories is of her and Rachel and myself sitting on the floor of the house at 206. Lyn or Rachel or perhaps both were doing “SBD’s” I‘lll never forget. I will be glad to see her again when my time comes. I will always love you, Lyn. Until then, ChasBa

We stayed at Selkirk guest house during the days lynn got the diagnosis.
Today after about 6 years we started to look for Lynn and we are so sad about this information.
All the best for Lynn, Claudia

  3. We stayed at Selkirk on our honeymoon, and on two other occasions. Lynn was the sweetest person we ever met, and every day there was a joy because of her. We all performed at Folklife, and we will miss her sweet self every year.

  4. Lynn brought a special magic to our Midway at the Oak Bay Tea Party, the Vancouver Island Exhibition and the Salmon Arm Fair. Though I never saw Lynn outside of her costume, you could tell she had a heart of gold underneath the Sweet Painted Smile she wore on her face.

The Children of our fairs will greatly miss her sunny spirit, and creative balloons! She was a pleasure and a treasure.

Our condolences to Lynne’s family, from all of us At Shooting Star Amusements
