It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mabel Wildman of Sidney, BC.

Mabel was born in Toronto, the youngest of the five children of Angus and Olive Pogson. After completing high school Mabel began work as a secretary. Soon after she met Henry Wildman, who would become her husband and lifelong love for 62 years. Together they raised a family, travelled, danced, and had a very happy life, first in Toronto and then Sooke and Sidney until his passing.

For Mabel, the love of family was everything. She will be greatly missed by sons Brian (Robyn) and Dale (Teri), grandchildren Marshall (Ally) and Harmony (Josh), nieces, nephews, and friends, and especially her nieces Sue and Debbie.

A special thank you to the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

To Brian and Dale and families – I’m your Grandmother Clara’s cousin, and your Dad’s second cousin, and that’s how I connected with your parents many years ago. Since then my sister Pat and I had many happy visits with them, both in Sooke and in Sidney. Your Dad and I shared a love of genealogy and spent many hours tracing, learning and sharing knowledge, stories and history about our common ancestry.
Your parents were the loveliest, most generous and caring people – I cherish our times spent together.
Sadly, the last time we were in Sidney your Mom was not well enough to visit. And my sister Pat died just a month before your Mom. Thank you Henry and May – I love you and miss you. God bless! xoxo

I would like to send my condolences to the Wildman family. I am a careworker for Bayshore Home Health and looked after your mother in 2022. We had many long conversations and even managed to get out for the occasional walk. She is now at peace.
    Regards, Jean Hodges
